Rotom Maasbracht has chosen an innovative pallet sorting and repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS). This line is designed to both sort and repair pallets, focusing on efficiency and flexibility. With six pallet repair workstations, a fully integrated overhead conveyor and six stackers, the line provides a complete solution for handling pallets of various shapes and sizes.
Setup of the line
1. Feeding via upper conveyor:
All pallets are routed to the sorting or recovery workstations via a central overhead conveyor. This setup eliminates the need for side feed and provides a streamlined process where pallets are distributed efficiently.
2. Sorting behind the sorter:
Three stackers are installed behind the sorter that automatically sort pallets by size, type and quality. This enables fast and accurate processing.
3. Recovery workstations:
The line has six repair workstations where operators can repair pallets to specifications. These workstations are ergonomically designed to facilitate work.
4. Disposal after repair:
Repaired pallets are automatically routed to three separate stackers, where they are re-sorted and stacked. This process enables efficient handling of repaired pallets.
Advantages of the line
Efficiency in sorting and repair:
The combination of sorting and repair functions in one line ensures that pallets are processed only where needed, leading to time and cost savings, pallet repairers can process up to 35% more pallets per hour. in addition, they only receive pallets that actually need repair.
Flexibility for multiple pallet types:
The line is designed to handle a wide variety of pallets simultaneously. This offers Rotom Maasbracht maximum flexibility in their pallet handling.
Optimized workflows:
The use of a central overhead conveyor reduces forklift movements by more than 50%, while the stackers ensure fast and efficient sorting of both repaired and unrepaired pallets.
Capacity for growth:
The modular design of PSS machines allows the line to be easily modified or expanded to meet future needs.
A proven solution from Pallet Sorting Systems
Experience with similar projects, such as at Kingsbury, Junction 4 Pallets and Metrosystem, shows that PSS’s modular systems are flexible and reliable. At Paletten Roels, a repair line for ten operators was successfully integrated with an advanced SCADA system and live monitoring via the PSS App. Rotom Maasbracht also benefits from this technology to gain insight into production and sorting.
