Blijderveen Pallets has increased the efficiency of their pallet handling with a pallet sorting-repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS). This system combines sorting technology with pallet repair, allowing pallets to be quickly and accurately processed and returned to service.
Sorting system with stackers and repair process in one
The line is equipped with three stackers directly behind the sorter. This is where the first choice pallets are automatically sent. Defective pallets are directed to the pallet repairers via an overhead conveyor. After repair, these pallets are reintroduced to the bottom lane, where they are processed by the Angle Saw and sorted to one of the four stackers. This efficient workflow allows the pallet repairers to repair as many as 35% more pallets per hour, which significantly increases productivity.
Minimum manpower, maximum efficiency
The efficiency of the process is further enhanced by the use of only one sorting employee and one forklift driver. Together, they handle the supply and removal of both unsorted and sorted pallets. This minimizes the number of forklift movements and maximizes the speed of the process.
