In 2011, Foresco Musselkanaal BV (formerly Lapack Musselkanaal) has been operating a pallet sorting and repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS) since 2011. This line was specifically designed to process Chep pallets, with the aim of achieving efficient and sustainable pallet logistics. To this day, this line is operational and plays a crucial role in Foresco’s Chep pool.
Specific features of the line
What makes this installation unique is the ultra-long supply chain conveyor placed outside. This allows truck drivers to easily place a full load of pallets on the conveyor themselves, which significantly speeds up the loading and unloading process.
After loading, the pallets are processed through the sorting line:
- Sorting: The sorting machine separates the pallets into two categories: good and to be repaired.
- Repairing process: The pallets to be repaired are sent directly through a buffer to the repairers, ensuring a seamless flow.
- Finishing and paint line: Finally, the stacks of good and repairable pallets come back together and pass through the paint line, then are collected for reuse.

This line has now been running continuously for 14 years and remains an essential part of Foresco Musselkanaal‘s pallet logistics . The durable construction and efficient operation of the PSS line enable it to continue to consistently meet the high demands of the Chep pool.
