Czech customer Herus-palety has invested in a pallet sorting repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems, dramatically improving their pallet management. This advanced line combines pallet sorting and repair in one integrated system, resulting in a significant increase in efficiency and productivity.
Smart and efficient pallet management
Herus-palety’s pallet sorting-repair line is designed for maximum efficiency. At the front of the machine, a sorting operator immediately sorts good quality pallets and stacks them automatically. Pallets in need of repair are passed through the top lane to the six pallet repairers. These employees remove the pallets from the top lane, repair them and then feed the pallets back into the bottom lane. Here they are sorted and stacked in one of four stackers behind the repairers.
Thanks to this optimized workflow, the six pallet repairers can perform their repair work 35% more efficiently. This process is supported by a sorting employee and a forklift driver, who together take care of the supply and removal of unsorted, sorted and repaired pallets.
Fewer forklift movements, greater efficiency
Automated loading and unloading has more than halved the use of forklifts, which not only increases safety but also significantly improves efficiency. Thanks to the pallet sorting repair line, HERUS has been able to achieve efficiency gains of as much as 75% in pallet sorting.
Real-time insights with SCADA and the PSS APP
Herus-palety’s line is equipped with the SCADA system, which records all sorting and repair data. This data is delivered daily in a CSV file, giving HERUS detailed reports on the number of pallets sorted and repaired, including results by workstation.
In addition, the PSS APP provides real-time machine status information. Users can track live numbers of pallets seen and repaired, see which workstations are active, and know as of when the machine is in operation. These insights help HERUS accurately monitor their processes and further optimize them if necessary.
