Pallets Roels: Efficient and effective pallet repair and sorting

Pallets Roels: Efficient and effective pallet repair and sorting

Palettes Roels has taken an innovative step by converting a standard pallet sorting line into an advanced pallet sorting repair line. This customized solution, designed with modular machine parts, provides an efficient and effective method of sorting and repairing pallets. The line is specifically designed to meet the needs of Paletten Roels and their pallet repairers, with a focus on ergonomics, productivity and data-driven insights.

An efficient and ergonomic work setup

The redesigned line is designed so that ten pallet handlers can work on pallets simultaneously, without wasting time due to unnecessary movements. Pallets are buffered and automatically supplied via an overhead conveyor, ensuring a continuous flow of repair jobs. After repair, pallets are easily moved to the bottom lane, where they are sent to one of six stackers via a selection menu. This minimizes manual handling and improves ergonomics for employees, reducing physical strain and enabling more efficient work.

With automated loading and unloading by one sorting employee and one forklift driver, the pallet handlers work up to 35% more efficiently. Good pallets are directly stacked in the front four stackers during the sorting process, while pallets requiring repair are automatically transported to the top lane. This process streamlines workflow and makes work both more effective and more ergonomic.

Nail press for maximum quality

To ensure the quality of repaired pallets, Paletten Roels has integrated a nail press into the line. This treats each pallet for protruding nails before taking it to one of six stackers. This not only increases safety but also the durability of the pallets, which is important for customers who depend on high-quality pallets for their logistics processes.

Effective data collection with SCADA

One of the most valuable additions to Paletten Roels’ pallet sorting repair line is the integration of the SCADA system. This system collects all sorting and repair data and delivers it in a clear CSV report. Companies can use this data to analyze performance, identify trends and make further optimizations. The result is a data-driven approach that helps make strategic decisions and increase operational efficiency.

Modular and flexible design

The modular design of the pallet sorting repair line makes it possible to adapt the machine to Paletten Roels’ specific needs. The setup is completely custom-made, which ensures maximum flexibility. This has allowed the line to grow with changing needs and new challenges. Paletten Roels can rely on a system that is future-proof and always meets the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness.
