Pallet Fabriek R. Derksen makes efficiency gains with Pallet Repair Line.

Pallet Fabriek R. Derksen has invested in a pallet repair line that works seamlessly with Pallet Sorting Systems‘ (PSS) Pallet Sorting line. Both machines are located in the same building, allowing defective pallets to be repaired and sorted efficiently. This has improved the efficiency of pallet repair by 35% over conventional operations. The people receive the pallets right next to the workbench and the automated removal and stacking ensures that the repairers no longer have to do heavy lifting. The forklift driver can do his work efficiently thanks to the buffer lanes in the supply and removal of the machines and can thus keep up with the sorting line and the repair line, ensuring that the workflow runs smoothly.

Process optimization with Pallet Sorting Systems

PSS’s Pallet Sorting line sorts defective pallets and delivers them to the work tables in small, nested stacks. Here they are repaired by six pallet repairers. The pallets are then automatically discharged to one of three stackers, where they are stacked at the desired height.

Automation and data analysis

Thanks to the automation of Pallet Sorting Systems, only one forklift driver is needed for the supply and removal of pallets at both the sorting line and the repair line. All data from the sorting and repair process is captured with the Scada package and sent to the office in a CSV file. This provides complete transparency and control over production.
