Pallet Sorting Line number two for Van Herpen Pallets

Pallet sorting line number two will soon be delivered to Van Herpen Pallets by Pallet Sorting Systems. The new installation will be used specifically for inspecting, sorting and repairing LPR pallets.

Van Herpen Pallets’ decision to invest in another PSS installation confirms its confidence in our machines and working methods. With this second line, the company is further expanding its capacity for the efficient processing of LPR pallets.

Pallet sorting line for different LPR quality grades

During the sorting process, the operator inspects each pallet for its design, quality and possible damage. The machine then automatically transports the pallet to the correct position.

The Pallet sorting line separates the LPR pallets into the following categories:

• LPR HT pallets;
• LPR Non-HT pallets;
• LPR pallets of Premium quality;
• damaged pallets requiring repair.

This creates a clear distinction between pallets that can be returned to service immediately and pallets that first require repair.

Sorting and repairing in one process

The new installation is not only intended for sorting LPR pallets. Pallets that do not meet the required quality standards during inspection are directed to the repair process.

After repair, these pallets can be inspected again and assigned to the correct quality category. This prevents repairable pallets from being unnecessarily rejected and gives Van Herpen Pallets greater control over the quality of its outgoing pallet flows.

The combination of manual quality control and automated transport creates an efficient and well-organised process. Employees can focus on inspection and repair, while the Pallet sorting line handles the transport, distribution and stacking of the pallets.

Higher capacity and less manual handling

With this second Pallet sorting line, Van Herpen Pallets will reduce manual pallet handling and forklift movements around the inspection area. At the same time, the pallets will be automatically collected by category and built into organised stacks.
