Pallethandel Panhuis, a player in the pallet industry, has invested in a new pallet sorting and repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS). This integrated solution combines efficient sorting and repair processes in a single system. Featuring six repair stations, the capability to sort pallets into 20 categories, and a dual-conveyor system with upper and lower lanes, the line enables Panhuis Pallets to optimize its operations. The addition of the SCADA system and PSS App provides real-time insights and accurate reporting through CSV files.
Efficient sorting and repair in one system
The combination of the pallet sorting and repair line integrates multiple steps into a seamless process. Incoming pallets are first inspected and sorted. Pallets requiring repair are directed via the upper conveyor to one of the six repair stations. Here, damaged components are replaced to make the pallets suitable for reuse. Pallets that do not require repair are sent directly via the lower conveyor to the Multi Sorter, where they are categorized based on type, size, or quality.
This integration reduces the number of manual tasks and accelerates processing. By utilizing an upper and lower conveyor system, the flow of pallets is optimized, minimizing delays and ensuring a smooth operation.
Efficient repairs with six workstations
The line includes six dedicated repair stations, designed for the efficient restoration of pallets. Pallets are delivered at an ergonomic working height via the upper conveyor, reducing physical strain such as heavy lifting or unnecessary bending. Once repairs are completed, pallets are automatically transferred via the lower conveyor back to the Multi Sorter. This eliminates the need for manual handling and boosts the productivity of repair staff.
With this setup, Pallethandel Panhuis can process a larger volume of pallets with less effort while maintaining the quality of refurbished pallets.
Multi Sorter for sorting into 20 categories
The Multi Sorter categorizes pallets into up to 20 different types, including Europallets, block pallets, and pallets of specific dimensions. This allows for precise sorting based on customer specifications. As a result, Panhuis Pallets can efficiently handle both standard pallets and those with non-standard dimensions.
This precise categorization ensures that each pallet reaches its correct destination, enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
SCADA system and PSS App for real-time monitoring
The line is equipped with PSS’s SCADA system, which provides real-time insights into system performance. Operators and managers can access data such as sorting speed, the number of repaired pallets, and other critical metrics. These insights are stored in CSV files, which can be easily exported and used for further analysis or reporting.
The PSS App further enhances flexibility by allowing remote access to operational data via smartphones or tablets. This enables Panhuis Pallets to monitor processes in real-time and make quick decisions based on up-to-date information.
Key features of the line
Ergonomic workstations: Pallets are delivered at an ergonomic height, improving working conditions.
High capacity: Processes up to 550 pallets per hour with just one sorter and one forklift driver.
Flexibility: Capable of sorting pallets into 20 different categories.
Optimized workflow: Dual-conveyor system with upper and lower lanes ensures efficient pallet flow.
Real-time monitoring: SCADA system and PSS App provide insights and CSV export options for reporting.
Sustainable and efficient pallet processing
The new line supports Pallethandel Panhuis in improving internal processes and increasing productivity. Repairing and reusing pallets not only results in cost savings but also contributes to a more sustainable business model. By leveraging the SCADA system and PSS App, the company gains full control over operational performance and can quickly respond to changing demands.
This integration enables Panhuis Pallets to work more efficiently, deliver tailored solutions to customers, and contribute to a circular economy within the pallet industry.
