PGS, formerly known as Den Doelder Pallets, has taken their pallet management to the next level with an advanced pallet sorting-repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems. Designed specifically for sorting and repairing LPR pool pallets, this line provides an efficient, integrated solution that seamlessly integrates with their business processes.
Efficient pallet management for LPR pool pallets
PGS’ pallet sorting-repair line is designed to directly sort and stack good quality LPR pool pallets, while pallets in need of repair are routed to repair stations via the top lane. Here Pallet Repairers take care of repairing the pallets, after which they are fed back to the bottom lane. After repair, pallets are sorted and placed in stacks, ready for further processing.
An important addition to the line is a paintbooth, placed behind the repair line. This paintbooth provides stacks of repaired pallets with a new coat of paint on the sides, which is essential for maintaining the LPR pool pallets. This process not only ensures the quality and appearance of the pallets, but also contributes to their durability and usability.
Optimization of workflows and efficiency
The pallet sorting repair line at PGS combines the work of a sorting employee and a forklift driver, who take care of the supply and removal of pallets. This collaboration and automated processes allow the repair workers to work up to 35% more efficiently. In addition, forklift use is more than halved, which increases safety and makes the work process even more efficient.
With this setup, PGS has also made significant gains in sorting efficiency, with an increase of as much as 75%. This is possible thanks to the modular design of the line, which has been specially adapted to the needs of handling and maintaining LPR pool pallets.
Real-time insights with SCADA and the PSS APP
PGS’ pallet sorting-repair line is equipped with the SCADA system, which collects and reports all sorting and repair data. PGS receives a daily CSV file with detailed information, such as the number of pallets sorted and repaired and the performance per workstation.
In addition, the PSS APP provides real-time insights, including machine status, numbers of pallets sorted and repaired, and the operational status of each workstation. These features enable PGS to continuously monitor and further optimize their processes.
A sustainable solution for PGS
With this innovative solution, PGS has found an efficient and sustainable way to sort, repair and maintain their LPR pool pallets. The combination of a repair line, paintbooth and data-driven insights creates a complete system that is ready for the future.
