Biber Paletten Invests in a Pallet Sorting and Repair Line

Biber Paletten has invested in a pallet sorting and repair line from Pallet Sorting Systems. The installation combines pallet sorting, pallet repair and production reporting into one efficient process. This reduces internal transport, increases productivity and creates a smooth material flow throughout the operation.

Sorting into Five Stackers

The pallet sorting and repair line sorts pallets into five different stackers. Four stackers are used to sort pallets by quality and pallet type, while the fifth stacker is dedicated to pallets requiring repair.

After inspection, every pallet is automatically directed to the correct destination. This ensures a continuous material flow and allows both the pallet sorter and repair operators to work efficiently.

Two Integrated Pallet Repair Stations

The installation is equipped with two integrated pallet repair stations. Pallets requiring repair are automatically supplied to the repair stations via a side infeed in stacks of nine pallets. This allows operators to focus entirely on repairing pallets without spending time on manual pallet handling.

After repair, the pallets are automatically returned to the pallet sorting and repair line and sorted into one of the five stackers.

Pressure Roller for a Safe Finish

After repair, every pallet passes through a heavy-duty pressure roller. The roller automatically presses protruding nails back into the pallet deck before the pallet is stacked.

By eliminating protruding nails, damage to products that are later placed on the pallets is prevented. This improves the quality of the repaired pallets and ensures safer handling during transport and storage.

Suitable for Euro Pallets and Industrial Pallets

The pallet sorting and repair line sorts Euro pallets into first, second and third grade. In addition, other pallet types with the same dimensions can also be processed.

The installation is also suitable for repairing and sorting 1000 × 1200 mm industrial pallets, enabling multiple pallet streams to be handled efficiently within one production line.

Daily CSV Production Reports

The pallet sorting and repair line automatically generates a daily CSV production report, including:

• Number of repaired pallets per repair station.
• Total number of repaired pallets.
• Number of pallets sorted by category.
• Total production output of the installation.

These reports provide valuable insight into both operator performance and overall production efficiency, making it easy to monitor and further optimize the pallet repair process.
