Following the successful implementation of an advanced pallet sorting and repair line by Smart Retur Norway, where the feed was doubled and adapted to automatic de-stacking with an integrated PalletAI system, Smart Retur Sweden has also chosen an innovative solution from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS). Advanced technology and efficient process
1. Automatic destacking with PalletAI:
Unsorted pallets are automatically unstacked and inspected by the PalletAI system. This replaces the need for a sorter, making the process faster and more efficient. PalletAI recognizes and sorts pallets by type, quality and specifications.
2. Sorting and recovery:
As in Denmark, good pallets are automatically sorted into three categories: 1st choice, 2nd choice and overflow for repair. The repair pallets are supplied to the pallet repairers via an overhead conveyor.
3. Repair process:
The pallet repairers perform repairs at the specially equipped workstations. After repair, the pallets are conveyed via the bottom lane to a nail press, for additional reinforcement, and then to a stacker of choice.
4. Efficient transport:
With the combination of automatic destacking, sorting and optimized workflows, only one forklift driver is needed to manage the supply and removal of pallets.
Smart monitoring and productivity
SCADA system:
The integrated SCADA system provides daily reports on line performance, including sorting and repair by operator. This provides valuable insights and makes it easy to optimize processes.
Pallet Sorting Systems App:
Through the PSS App, managers in Sweden can monitor the status of the line live, similar to the functionality already successfully used in Norway and Denmark.
