Innovation in Pallet Processing
The Pallet Company is the first company to install the new Robotic Pallet Saw System from Pallet Sorting Systems (PSS). Equipped with artificial intelligence (AI4Pallets), this system enables pallets to be cut fully automatically and in random order (“random play”).
With multiple 2D and 3D cameras, the system automatically identifies pallet type, dimensions, and deck orientation. The AI adjusts the cutting pattern in real time, allowing pallets of different formats and conditions to be processed without manual intervention.
A Fanuc industrial robot, combined with a Joulin vacuum gripper, handles the pallets. This allows used pallets to be dismantled efficiently, recovering reusable components for repair or further processing. As a result, material waste is reduced and costs are lowered.
The Robotic Pallet Saw System is designed so operators do not work directly with the saw. Automated processes enhance workplace safety while providing ergonomic working conditions.
After extensive market research and visits to existing system suppliers, The Pallet Company deliberately chose PSS. Many of the systems available on the market had shortcomings for the European market, leading The Pallet Company to commission PSS to design a system tailored to European requirements, with a strong focus on flexibility, safety, and precision.
By choosing the first AI-powered Robotic Pallet Saw System, The Pallet Company demonstrates its commitment to innovation and sustainability. Combining automation, precision, and flexibility, the system extends pallet life cycles and strengthens the circular economy.
